Saint Piran Women’s Race Team awarded Elite Development status

In only its second year, Saint Piran Women’s Race Team is now recognised as an Elite Development Team. By achieving this status, the Women’s Team have proven its ability to work with and support riders, offering the best rider package not only in terms of equipment, but also in mentoring, opportunity and progression.

Set up in 2020, the Elite Development Status is only awarded to a select number of teams. The Status recognises the work of teams to support young, talented riders on their journey. Bridging the gap from club teams to those operating at UCI Continental level. Teams must meet a set minimum criteria based on the quality of support which they offer to their riders.

The Status pays homage to the hardwork and dedication of the Team and Lapierre UK is proud to be supporting the Team and the future of women’s cycling.

The Elite Development Status gives greater recognition and opportunity with additional exposure across the British Cycling platforms.

The announcement comes at a time when the Team is preparing for the Saint Piran Women’s Race League and the start of the road racing season. The Team’s first UK race will be round 2 of the British Women’s Team Cup on March 27th with their International debut in Belgium at the end of April.
