Description
With our great experience, we have decided to move towards a new and innovative solution that places the behavior of the bike at the center of the specifications. Behavior where the notion of weight is relative, where the steering is light, where the bike is playful, lively and responsive.
To achieve this we have oriented all our technical choices around refocusing and maximum lowering of the masses. The technical challenge was sizeable, it was necessary to rethink the way of designing an E-MTB, to think differently: to build a framework around the ideal position of the battery.
At the start of 2017, Lapierre proposed this idea and this revolutionary product in the guise of the Overvolt AM Carbon "GLP. An unmatched vision of E-MTB. It was important to evolve so that it keeps this unique and contemporary identity. The arrival of the new Bosch Gen 4 engine has allowed the GLP concept to be pushed even further, to refine its design, to optimize the geometry, to further improve the behavior of the bike, to create the new Overvolt AM Carbon GLP series. Our certainties, our convictions have become obsessions and have fed all of our developments thereafter: whether on e-MTB, but also mountain biking.

We have been working on mass centralization from the start, but the improvements we have made prove that it is much more beneficial to work on mass distribution / centralization than just trying to gain weight. With the arrival of the Bosch Gen 4, we were therefore able to completely rethink our e-MTB while causing the bike to lose almost 2 kg! The first adjustment was on the frame. It’s entirely made of carbon, which made it possible to rework the nature and quality of the fibers with the consequence of a reduction in its weight (approximately 300 g) without compromising the rigidity and the overall reliability.
