July Recap from our Lapierre Athletes

Looking back on the past month from our athletes perspective.

Recap

We start this months recap with the most prestigious cycling race: the Tour de France.
It has been an electrifying Tour this year with the danish Jonas Vingegaard riding in another dimension and winning the TdF. The Groupama FDJ raced on Lapierre bikes and was able to place three riders in the Top 20 overall ranking. Finishing ninth overall was David Gaudu, eleventh place was Thibaut Pinot and rounding up the Top 20 was Valentin Madouas.
This places the Groupama FDJ in fifth place overall out of 22 teams.

The Austrian triathlete Lisa Perterer raced on the first weekend of July her first triathlon after a severe foot injury. In Hungary she finished 41. and was pleased with her result, however one week later in Hamburg she participated in the sprint distance and ended up on a dissapointing 45. place.

Justine Tonso and Jerome Gilloux went off in July! They crowned themselves french national E-XC champion in Puy-Saint-Vincent and later that month they also dominated the UCI E-MTB CROSS-COUNTRY WORLD CUP tour stop in San Paolo d'Argon, Italy. Justine finished third in the short track and came first across the finish line on the long distance race. Jerome also achieved two podiums: first place in short track and second place on Sunday.

July didn´t feature any races for our Lapierre Zipp Collective riders Lisandru Bertini and Isabeau Courdurier, so they enjoyed their off time and spent a couple of days with their families.

Stay tuned for news from the races in August!
